A tutorial on how to find and use VST audio plug-ins in OBS studio

The focus of this article is on that last filter, which has the most potential to improve your audio. But it is a fair bit more complicated than the standard filters. VST stands for “Virtual Studio Technology,” and is a piece of software that runs alongside OBS in this situation. Apart from merely acting as an audio filter, there is a ton.

1. Use VST 2.x plugins as audio filters in OBS. EffEditOpen: the ptr argument is a WindowRef on 32 bit Mac. On 64 bit this is a NSView pointer. The plug-in needs to add its own NSView as subview of it.
2. LoudMax is a Look-Ahead Brickwall Loudness Maximizer Plugin with a clean transparent sound. It is designed to retain the original character of the music as much as possible even at high compression levels.
3. The Hadron plugin is your ultimate granular synthesis tool. In fact it is such a complete implementation of granular synthesis we’ve renamed the technique to particle synthesis. The plugin is of course free and open source.
4. Fear not - you can download ReaPlugs, a package of FX that includes many of the plug-ins that come with REAPER, for free! General features of ReaPlugs: Support for Windows 98/ME/2K/XP/Vista/W7, WINE.
5. I've been trying to get the Waves VST Plugins to work on OBS and I've encountered a consistent crash when trying to load it as a Filter. Add Mic/Aux to mixer. Go to Filters on Mic/Aux. Right click add VST 2.x plugin. Select Waveshell from plugin list.

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is a free and open source software for video recording and live streaming.

This is a simple tutorial on how to open and use VST plugins and use them in OBS Studio:

All you need to do is click on the Settings icon after adding the Source for your audio capture channel (or right-click on the channel).

The filters’ field will come up where you can add a VST plug-in, rename it and then simply select your preferred plug-in.

Same process can be applied in a mic AUX or any other audio recording channel.

You can now easily remove unwanted sounds from your recordings, correct audio level inconsistencies and tackle various audio related issues using audio repair plug-ins.

Now that Wavosaur can work natively on 64 bit systems, we need some 64 bit VST plugin effects that are full 64 bit. Many of the free VST plugins are still 32 bit, but we have found some nice 64 bit plugins, for your needs : compressor, limiter, reverb, equalizer, filter, distorsion !

This software compressor is very clean, works nice with any input, and has all the controls you need. You can use it on the master if you want, it has this transparent quality. It’s free, it’s x64, it’s funky.

It’s good, it’s a convolution reverb plugin, so you have to feed it with some impulse response file, and it’s x64 !

the W1 Limiter plugin is a clone of Waves L1 limiter. It really does the job. don’t hesitate to downoad and test ! it’s freeware.

This free plugin is a 16 band linear phase EQ, is very clean, and allows you to make quick adjustments to your tracks.

We always need a good spectrum analysis, this one, is not only very good, it’s free and 64 bit !

Conclusion:

Obs Vst Plugins X64 Iso

Monster hunter freedom 2 iso. Of course you can use the 32 bit version of Wavosaur if you still want to use 32 bit plugins (the majority of free plugins are 32 bit!) But nothing prevents you from using the two versions of Wavosaur : 64 bit when you need large amount of RAM for editing, and 32 bit when you need a large choice of VST plugins.
